Standing BearHigh School is seeking a dynamic individual as an assistant Unified Track & Fieldcoach to provide support for athletes in the Unified Track & Field program. Excellent communication and organizational skills are required as well as the desire and ability to develop positive relationships with student-participants, families, and the LPS community. Must have comprehensive knowledge and experience withthe sport of track and fieldto help develop the school’s program.
LPS assistant coaches are expected to follow the guidance of their head coaches in organizing and leading practices, regular season and district contests and performances (not to exceed NSAA/LPS allowances); facilitate, manage and provide oversight of the program; maintain required certification and requirements of the position; and lead their teams in NSAA state championship preparation and performances if the team or individuals qualify.
LPS has a long tradition of academic, athletic and activity excellence. Belief in the value of educational-based athletics is critical.
Requires teacher and/or coach who holds a Nebraska Department of Education Teacher or Administrative Certificate or a Nebraska Department of Education Special Services Coaching Permit.
Knowledge and understanding of NSAA and LPS policies and bylaws is required.
This position also requires CPR certification(LPS provided) & NFHS Certification in Concussion, Heat Illness, and Sudden Cardiac Awareness.
This position is subject to a veterans preference.
