Job summary

Northwest High School, part of Lincoln Public Schools, is seeking an assistant JV girls soccer coach to support athletes in the Lincoln Northwest JV program. The role requires strong communication and organizational skills and comprehensive soccer knowledge to help develop the school’s program.

The candidate must hold a Nebraska Dept. of Education teaching/administrative certificate or a Special Services Coaching Permit, and will follow the head coach’s guidance for practices, games, and state

Qualifications

• Must hold Nebraska Department of Education Teacher or Administrative Certificate or Special Services Coaching Permit.
• Knowledge of NSAA and LPS policies and bylaws required.
• Experience coaching girls soccer or in a similar soccer program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in organizing and leading practices and games for the JV girls soccer program.
• Follow the guidance of the head coach regarding practice plans and contests.
• Provide oversight of the program and ensure compliance with NSAA/LPS requirements.
• Lead team preparation for NSAA state championships if qualification occurs.

Job Description

Lincoln Northwest High School is seeking a dynamic individual as an assistantgirls soccercoach to provide support for athletes in the Lincoln NorthwestJV Girls Soccer program.Excellent communication and organizational skills are required as well as the desire and ability to develop positive relationships with student-participants, families, and the LPS community. Must have comprehensive knowledge and experience withthe sport of soccer to help develop the school’s program.

LPS assistant coaches are expected to follow the guidance of their head coaches in organizing and leading practices, regular season and district contests and performances (not to exceed NSAA/LPS allowances); facilitate, manage and provide oversight of the program; maintain required certification and requirements of the position; and lead their teams in NSAA state championship preparation and performances if the team or individuals qualify.

LPS has a long tradition of academic, athletic and activity excellence. Belief in the value of educational-based athletics is critical.

Requires teacher and/or coach who holds a Nebraska Department of Education Teacher or Administrative Certificate or a Nebraska Department of Education Special Services Coaching Permit.

Knowledge and understanding of NSAA and LPS policies and bylaws is required.
