Job summary

The Austin Public Schools Activities department in Austin, MN is seeking an Assistant Wrestling Coach to support the Head Coach with administration, coaching and supervision of the Wrestling program.

The ideal candidate will have strong wrestling knowledge, excellent communication with students, staff and parents, and a commitment to upholding district codes, sportsmanship and safety while helping plan camps and team events.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of wrestling coaching and teaching.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, staff and parents.
• Ability to assist the head coach with organization and administration of the wrestling program.
• Understanding of and adherence to the district's student activity and athletic guidelines.
• Willingness to assist in planning summer camps and team competitions.

Responsibilities

• Administer, coach and supervise Wrestling in conjunction with the Head Coach.
• Assist in organizing and supervising summer camps and team competitions.
• Promote good sportsmanship and model the district's Code and Coaches/Advisors Handbook.
• Enforce MS HS League and district rules pertaining to Wrestling.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or athletics leadership.

The Austin High School Activities department is currently looking for an Assistant Wrestling Coach(multiple positions)

This position will be responsible for the administration, coaching and supervision of Wrestling, in conjunction with the Head coach. Areas of Responsibility and Job Duties:

• Have a strong knowledge of and background in coaching and teachingWrestling
• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisors, parents, community members and students
• Assistthe head coach as delegated in matters pertaining to the organization and administration of coaching the Wrestling team
• Understanding of and agreement with the Austin Public School District's Student Activity and Athletic Code and the Coaches/Advisors Handbook
• Assist inin planning, organizing and supervising summer camps and team competitions
• Model the pillars of Character Counts and promote good sportsmanship as the players Pursue Victory with Honor
• Enforce all rules of the Minnesota State High School League and Austin Public Schools as they pertain to Wrestling
• Performother duties as assigned
