Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking a Co-Teacher for Head Start/ Early Head Start programs to support young children’s development with diverse activities, aiming for social, emotional, cognitive and physical growth.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 24 CD units in Early Childhood Education/Development, and the ability to pass fingerprint/background checks. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred; a positive, safety-conscious classroom is essential.

Qualifications

• Must pass fingerprint clearance and background check.
• TB clearance within 6 months, influenza vaccination, and immunizations.
• Ability to interact with children in a busy environment; lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement curriculum for double sessions; activities to promote learning.
• Integrate Head Start services and involve parents in learning.
• Observe and assess development; maintain records and monthly paperwork.
• Provide a learning environment reflecting diverse backgrounds; ensure safety.
