Job summary

Behavioral Health Network, Inc. seeks a Co-Response Clinician to deliver community-based crisis intervention in partnership with law enforcement.

You will assess, stabilize, and support individuals in real time—meeting them where they are: in homes, shelters, hospitals, or other community settings, with most work onsite in Springfield. Requirements include a Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or related field; 1+ year in crisis or mobile crisis work; licensure

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or related field.
  • 1+ year of crisis intervention, mobile crisis, or community mental health experience (preferred).
  • Licensed - LICSW, LCSW or licensed eligible - LMHC (preferred) - if not licensed obtain within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures timely shift engagement and readiness for mobile dispatch.
  • Maintains full understanding and compliance with daily shift expectations.
  • Conducts comprehensive, face-to-face, community-based clinical risk and stabilization assessments.
  • Works collaboratively with law enforcement, EMS, providers, and support networks.
  • Enters information into the DMH Jail Diversion Program (JDP) state database as appropriate.
  • Creates paperwork related to services with high quality and timely completion by end of shift.

You will deliver community-based crisis intervention services in partnership with law enforcement through the co-responder model. You will assess, stabilize, and support individuals in real-time—meeting them where they are: in homes, shelters, hospitals, or other community settings.

Location: 75 Dwight Street Springfield/Mobile

What You’ll Do:

As a Co-Response Clinician you will deliver community-based crisis intervention services to youth and adults experiencing urgent behavioral health needs. You will assess, stabilize, and support individuals in real-time—meeting them where they are: in homes, shelters, hospitals, or other community settings but will most likely be onsite in Springfield. This is an exciting opportunity to make a lasting difference while collaborating with a skilled multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures timely shift engagement and consistent readiness for mobile dispatch.
  • Maintains full understanding and compliance with daily shift expectations.
  • Conducts comprehensive, face-to-face, community-based clinical risk and stabilization
  • Works collaboratively with law enforcement, EMS, existing providers, and support networks.
  • Engages with collateral contacts and consults with on-call supervisor regarding disposition.
  • Enters information into the Department of Mental Health (DMH) Jail Diversion Program (JDP) state database, as appropriate.
  • Creates paperwork related to services that is high quality and timely. All documentation must be completed by the end of shift on the day of the service.

Who You Are:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field (required)
  • 1+ years of experience working in crisis intervention, mobile crisis or community mental health setting (preferred)
  • Licensed - LICSW, LCSW or licensed eligible - LMHC (preferred) - If not licensed obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Ability to conduct rapid clinical assessments and respond calmly in high-stress situations
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required (community-based role)

Shift: 32 hours a week - Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 4:00pm-12:30am and Saturday 8am-4:30pm

Pay: $40 per hour

Masters or better.
