Job Responsibilities
- Maintain prekindergarten licensure or other credential requirements.
- Follow child care regulations as presented in Department of Human Services, Statute 9503 (Rule 3).
- Document and report suspected cases of child abuse to Child Protection.
- Complete required in-service training each year, track and maintain personal training hours, and complete required forms.
- Complete and submit timecards according to pay schedule.
- Directly supervise the preschool program and train/supervise student employees and practicum/student teachers.
- Prepare and communicate classroom plans with substitutes and meet the daily needs of each child.
- Collaborate with Co-Teacher to discuss classroom management weekly.
- Plan and implement curriculum with team teachers, maintaining learning areas as specified in DHS Rule 3.
- Maintain classroom and shared space organization, safety checks, and cleanliness.
- Work with consultants for program development and maintain attendance records.
- Communicate with parents and participate in parent conferences and family events.
- Participate in staff meetings, curriculum planning, and safety checks.
- Report safety concerns and supply needs to the director.
Experience & Education
- 21 years of age or older.
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
- Prekindergarten teaching license preferred.
- Synodical college preparation or colloquy candidacy preferred.
