Deliver high quality recreation services for residents, visitors and the St. Charles community by adhering to the District’s safety and administrative policies and procedures.
This position is well suited for someone with a pleasant personality who is professional, enthusiastic, dedicated, patient and productive. Should have an affinity for working with children. Can work and communicate effectively with a diverse group of people, including children, parents and other park district staff. Be willing and able to work outside in a variety of weather conditions and evenings as needed.
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Education, Natural Resources, Early Childhood Education, or Biological sciences, or the equivalent in other work or experience. Teaching experience preferred. Must have a basic knowledge of native ecosystems and ability to identify flora and fauna. Maintain Mandated Reporter and First Aid/CPR/AED certifications or obtain certifications within 30 days of hire.
Under the supervision of the Nature Programs Supervisor, the Nature Preschool Teacher shall complete all duties to the best of their abilities, offering suggestions for improvement and prioritizing the best interests of the District. Responsibilities include:
Activities include sitting, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, standing, and lifting 1-40 lbs. The role requires good hearing and vision, with or without accommodations.
