Vehicle Engineering (VE) is part of Volvo Group Trucks Technology (GTT), a division of Volvo Group North America. VE provides state-of-the-art research, engineering, product planning and project execution to final delivery of complete products and support of the products in the aftermarket. What You Will Be Doing

As a Software Engineer Co-op, you will gain hands-on experience in software development and contribute to real-world projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in object-oriented programming and cloud computing, along with a willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of software applications using C# and .NET technologies.
  • Apply object-oriented programming principles, including dependency injection and inheritance, to enhance software design.
  • Collaborate with the team to implement and manage source control using Git, including pull-request workflows.
  • Participate in the development and deployment of cloud-based solutions using Azure pipelines and services.
  • Write clean, testable, scalable code using .NET programming languages

You are a Computer Science student that is prepared to work in a challenging and fast-paced environment, gaining experience and knowledge in various aspects of engineering. As a valued member of the engineering team within GTT, you will have the opportunity to work directly with the engineers in the department. Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Co-ops are not enrolled in academic courses during their co-op rotation and may work up to 40 hours per week
  • Must have at least 30 credit hours and a minimum GPA of 2.75
  • Familiarity with object-oriented programming concepts, including dependency injection and inheritance
  • CANoe/CANalyzer experience preferred
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
  • Self-motivated and open-minded to learning new skills

Compensation & Benefits

For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $17.00 - $46.00. The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study.
