Job summary

Toyota Material Handling, Inc. in East Chicago, IN, is seeking a Part-time/Co-Op Production Engineer.

You will support development and enhancement of manufacturing processes, ensuring quality throughout the production cycle and collaborating with a diverse team to drive continuous improvement. The role requires pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, around 20 hours/week, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and test fixtures for the manufacturing department (carts, weld/assembly fixtures, lifting devices).
• Investigate, procure, integrate, and install new equipment to automate processes in Assembly and Material Handling.
• Study process layout and improve material flow.
• Provide daily support to Manufacturing and Maintenance to resolve process issues.
• Proactively identify and improve issues before problems occur.
