Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Minimum of one internship or co-op experience or an equivalent of 3 months work experience.
• Must relocate to Sumter, SC site for the co-op; relocation assistance provided within 50 miles.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Assist CPA engineering team to develop solutions for product and manufacturing problems for a complete line of apparatus.
• Assist in training and development of personnel; assemble, verify and analyze results, prepare reports.
• Initiate and prepare specifications for products, equipment, tooling, processes, and systems to obtain optimum cost and quality manufacturability.
• Implement strategies to ensure concurrent engineering and design for manufacturing concepts with the design engineering team.
• Investigate new technologies and processes and assess their total business impact.
• Design and justify installation of new concepts, equipment, tooling, and processes for optimal manufacturing cost.
• Maintain understanding of JIT, Lean & Agile Manufacturing, Kaizen, TQM, Poka-Yoke and cPQI.
• Participate in project management and cross-functional teamwork using ProLaunch and other tools.
• Participate in VOC product and market requirements research.
• Ensure timely completion of project commitments.
