Job summary

General Motors is seeking Electrical Engineer Co-ops for hands-on work in control systems and electrical support for programs. You will learn to lead electrical projects across plant operations, including model change and throughput planning, while providing tech guidance to support personnel.

The role emphasizes problem-solving, data analysis, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Eng, EET, Controls, Computer Eng or CS.
• Must graduate between December 2027 and June 2030.
• Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week.
• Willing to work in a plant environment.
• Must be enrolled in a co-op program through Kettering University or Rochester Institute of Technology.

Responsibilities

• Investigates system and equipment problems; provides technical guidance.
• Conducts machine failure root-cause analysis and problem solving.
• Utilizes statistical methods for continuous improvement on plant systems.
• Programming of manufacturing technology (PLC, HMI, Robotics, etc.).
• Supports GM's Quality Network initiatives.
