Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Interact with Engineers to plan, complete and report results of experiments, tests, prototype development, literature surveys, etc.
• Provide support to other team members upon request and where reasonable.
• Ask questions and learn about client expectations while driving towards scientific excellence.
• Work with engineers to define tasks.
• Follow procedures pertinent to tasks being performed.
• Ensure documentation is kept detailing project history (reports, notebooks, disclosures, literature, notes, deliverables).

Overview

The Co-op position will be responsible for application of engineering principles to research and develop various medical devices under the direction of an Engineer. This position is a 16-week, 3 term, paid Co-op located at Med Institute in West Lafayette, Indiana. The initial Co-op term will start in Jan 2027 through mid-May then resume in Fall 2027 and again in Summer 2028 (exact dates depend on school calendars.) This position includes 401(k) options and free access to a fitness center. All Co-op opportunities provide hands‑on experience with meaningful projects in the Medical Device Industry.
