Responsibilities

• Interact with Engineers to plan, complete and report results of experiments, tests, prototype development, literature surveys, etc.
• Provide support to other team members upon request and where reasonable.
• Ask questions and learn about client expectations while driving towards scientific excellence.
• Work with engineers to define tasks.
• Follow procedures pertinent to tasks being performed.
• Ensure that appropriate documentation is kept detailing project history (reports, laboratory notebooks, invention disclosures, scientific literature, meeting notes, deliverables, etc.)

Overview

The Co‑op position will be responsible for application of engineering principles to research and develop various medical devices under the direction of an Engineer. This position is a 16‑week, 3‑term, paid Co‑op located at Med Institute in West Lafayette, Indiana. The initial Co‑op term will start in Jan 2027 through mid‑May then resume in Fall 2027 and again in Summer 2028 (exact dates depend on school calendars). This position includes 401(k) options and free access to a fitness center. All Co‑op opportunities provide hands‑on experience with meaningful projects in the Medical Device Industry.
