Job summary

AMETEK Inc. in Keene, NH is seeking a Co-Op CNC Lathe Operator to develop foundational CNC machining skills while supporting precision component production.

Under direct supervision, you will assist with machine setup, operation, inspection, material handling, and continuous improvement activities in an ultra‑precision environment. You will gain hands‑on exposure to CNC turning, blueprint reading, metrology, and safety practices.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Precision Machining, or related program.
• Basic mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work safely in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the setup and operation of CNC lathe equipment utilizing approved programs and work instructions.
• Load and unload raw materials and completed components.
• Monitor machine operations and report quality, tooling, or machine concerns.
• Perform basic dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, indicators and thread gauges.
• Read and interpret basic engineering drawings and manufacturing routings.
• Assist with part cleaning, deburring, sanding, bead blasting, and finishing operations.
• Support material preparation activities using saws and secondary equipment.
• Accurately document inspection and production information.
• Utilize Visual ERP or equivalent systems for labor reporting and job tracking.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects and manufacturing process reviews.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards.
• Adhere to all safety requirements including PPE, LOTO awareness, hazard communication, and machine guarding procedures.
• Work collaboratively with machinists, manufacturing engineers, quality personnel, and supervisors.
