Job summary

Northeastern University’s Office of the Chancellor seeks a Co-op Faculty Coordinator for Bouve College of Health Sciences. This 12-month, full-time, non-tenure track role focuses on guiding students through career development, teaching a career education course each semester, and coaching through individual and group meetings.

The Coordinator builds industry partnerships, supports integrated learning across co-op and academics, and serves university programs with a strong emphasis on diversity

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in college student development, counseling, education, psychology or a health science/public health related field is required by the appointment start date.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, and comfort presenting to diverse audiences.
• Experience working with a varied staff and/or student population.
• Proficiency in computer/technology and database maintenance, with excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Knowledge and appreciation of cooperative education and/or experiential learning and its impact on an individual’s career development.
• Ability to effectively engage a diverse network of global stakeholders, across time zones.

Responsibilities

• Educate, advise, and coach students through career development in one-on-one sessions, workshops and classrooms.
• Teach a career education course each semester and coach students through group and individual meetings.
• Prepare classroom instruction on interviewing skills, professional behavior, communication, workplace ethics and leadership development.
• Maintain contact with students during co-op experiences and guide post-co-op reflections.
• Collaborate with faculty and industry to integrate employment-based learning with curriculum and share industry knowledge.
