Job summary

Jobtailor in Las Vegas, NV, seeks a Production Planner to develop and maintain accurate production and inventory plans aligned with forecasts and customer demand. You will collaborate with the Material Planning Manager to create machine production schedules and coordinate material movement across purchasing, production, and engineering.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or similar
  • 1–3 years’ experience in scheduling in a manufacturing environment
  • Paper mill or paper industry experience preferred
  • Ability to evaluate large amounts of information
  • Ability to work in a time-bound environment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Multitask and balance conflicting objectives
  • Technical/software skills, including SAP and Excel
  • Must be local to the Las Vegas area and seeking a long-term role

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain accurate production and inventory plans to meet forecast needs
  • Work with the Material Planning Manager to create machine production schedules
  • Schedule and reschedule finished products and sub-assemblies according to customer demand, safety stock requirements, forecasts, and production targets
  • Plan, schedule, and monitor material movement through the production cycle
  • Coordinate material movement with purchasing, production, and engineering
  • Determine required material purchases
  • Approve the production plan
  • Identify innovative ways to improve trim and process efficiency and reduce waste
  • Collaborate with Converting Production Planning to maximize service to end-use clients
  • Support the parent reels sales office in client relationships concerning production plans, deliveries, and technical specifications
  • Work with Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, and other planners to develop production plans

  • Ability to multitask and balance conflicting objectives
  • Technical/software skills, including SAP and Excel
  • Must be local to the Las Vegas area and seeking a long-term role
  • Personal protective equipment is required in plant and warehouse areas
  • Ability to work in environments with paper dust, noise, and seasonal temperature variation
