Job summary

Responsive Education Solutions Ignite Mainland in La Marque, Texas seeks a CNP Coordinator to prepare and serve meals for the National School Breakfast & Lunch Program, ensuring high quality, sanitation, safety, and customer service. You will assist with food prep, portions, serving, cashiering, and documentation, while maintaining inventory and collaborating with staff.

The role requires basic math, teamwork, and ability to follow recipes and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Food service experience preferred.
  • Ability to understand food preparation and safety instructions.
  • Working knowledge of kitchen equipment and food production procedures.
  • Ability to operate large and small kitchen equipment and tools.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations.
  • Team-oriented work style and ability to work with interruptions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparing food using standardized recipes, accurate measurements, and correct food preparation techniques.
  • Prepare food according to time schedules to meet deadlines and monitor food quality during preparation.
  • Assist with arranging food and beverage items for the purpose of serving them to students and staff in an efficient and presentable manner.
  • Assist with serving correct food portions using acceptable sanitation techniques in food handling, maintaining correct holding temperatures and utilizing food merchandising techniques. Accurately report amounts of food used and leftovers.
  • Clean utensils, equipment and building areas as assigned for maintaining sanitary conditions.
  • Assist with performing cashiering duties for meal transactions and reconciling bank deposits.
  • Assist with preparing documentation for meals prepared and served and/or conveying information.
  • Stock food, condiments, and supplies for maintaining adequate quantities and security of items.
  • Interact positively with students, faculty, administration and others.
  • Foster a harmonious team environment by assisting coworkers with scheduled work demands.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by the Child Nutrition Coordinator for filling in for other areas due to absenteeism or special events.
  • Performs other duties as requested.

Position Summary: To prepare and serve the appropriate quantities of food to meet meal requirements. Maintain high standards of quality in food production, sanitation, safety practices and customer service.

  • Clean utensils, equipment and building areas as assigned (e.g. carts, dishes, pans, tables, counters, storage, food preparation and serving areas, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining required orderly, clean, and sanitary conditions.
  • Assist with performing cashiering duties for the purpose of completing meal transactions, securing funds for reimbursement of costs and reconciling bank deposits.
  • Assist with preparing documentation (i.e. production records, etc.) for the purpose of providing written support for meals prepared and served and/or conveying information.
  • Stocks food, condiments, and supplies for the purpose of maintaining adequate quantities and security of items.
  • Interact positively with students, faculty, administration and others.
  • Foster a harmonious team environment by assisting coworkers with scheduled work demands.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by the Child Nutrition Coordinator for the purpose of filling in for other areas due to absenteeism or unexpected special events.

Physical Requirements

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 5% sitting, 45% walking, and 50% standing. Capable of lifting up to 30 pounds. Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles; extreme cold and extreme heat.
