Job summary

Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, MA is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife to provide obstetric care under an Obstetrician. You will participate in childbirth, prenatal and postpartum care, and act as a first assist for cesarean deliveries.

The role requires MSN and MA CNM licensure with current BLS/PALS/ACLS, DEA and MCSR as applicable. Expect 3-day work weeks with 12-hour shifts, rotating days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• MSN required for CNM practice.
• Massachusetts CNM license required.
• DEA registration required if prescribing.
• MCSR registration required if prescribing.
• Current BLS certification.
• PALS certification within 6 months.
• ACLS certification within 6 months.
• FHM fetal monitoring course every 2 years.
• Minimum two years of CNM experience.
• Knowledge of nursing theory, clinical standards, and midwifery practice.

Responsibilities

• Participate in initial examination, care, and delivery of obstetrical patients.
• Assist with antenatal evaluation and treatment and prenatal care.
• Perform labor support and delivery, including postpartum examinations.
• Deliver infants and conduct postpartum visits ensuring normal recovery.
• Administer emergency measures and coordinate with Obstetrician for complex cases.
• Provide First Assist for cesarean sections.
• Maintain case records for department and hospital files.
• Conduct patient and family education on pregnancy, childbirth, and newborn care.
