Gasser Chair Company is seeking a Wood Shop Associate to operate woodworking equipment, perform setup and sanding, and assist with assembly and finishing. You will follow detailed work orders, ensure quality, and maintain safety standards in a fast-paced production environment.

Located in Youngstown, OH, this role emphasizes accuracy, reliability, and willingness to learn multiple wood shop tasks while contributing to efficient production flows. Training and PPE are provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Woodworking/manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to read productions specifications and basic drawings.
• Ability to use measuring devices and perform basic fractions math.
• Willingness to complete safety training and use PPE.
• Dependable attendance and quality-focused work.

Responsibilities

• Operate 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machines and other woodworking equipment.
• Perform machine setup and checks, load materials, select programs, verify tooling.
• Sand wood components to required dimensions and surface quality.
• Assemble wood bases and related components with hardware and adhesives.
• Spray stain and apply finishing materials according to instructions.
• Read production orders and follow work instructions precisely.
• Inspect materials and finished work for defects and quality.
• Safely move and stage wood materials and components.
• Support production workflow and communicate issues to team.
• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance on equipment.
• Follow safety procedures and use PPE as required.
• Maintain clean and organized workstations and finish areas.
• Document completed work and material usage accurately.
• Learn additional wood shop operations and suggest improvements.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
