Job summary

NTA Precision Axle Manufacturing in Carol Stream, IL, is seeking a Turning Operator. You will operate CNC lathe/milling machines, load and inspect parts, and adjust tooling and offsets to meet specifications. The role requires reading drawings, precise measurement, and daily 5S/safety compliance.

The position offers starting wage of $19.00 per hour, with 2nd shift +$2.00 and 3rd shift +$3.00 differential. Overtime and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment with automated or robotic equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret part drawings and make decisions regarding part quality and offset changes.
• Experience in machining and using measuring tools such as drop indicators, dial bore gauges, plug gauges, and fixture-related pin gauges.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment running multiple production lines, prioritizing tasks to maximize efficiency.
• Ability to maintain regular, predictable attendance, overtime and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Machine operations – check specs, load/unload production lines.
• Utilize measurement tools such as pre-set gauges to verify quality of production.
• Perform visual inspection of parts.
• Make necessary offsets.
• Change/adjust production tooling.
• Complete forms recording production results.
• Daily preventative maintenance: remove and dispose of chips/shavings, replenish fluids/lubricants.
• Read job instructions and perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
