Job summary
Fisher Barton is seeking a Production Lead for CNC Turning in Waukesha, WI. This full-time, 2nd shift (2pm-10pm) role oversees the turning department, mentors machinists, and drives continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate has 5–7 years in CNC turning with 2–3 years in a leadership capacity, strong G-code knowledge, and a focus on quality and safety.
Qualifications
- Education: high school diploma or GED; associate degree or vocational CNC machining training preferred.
- Experience: 5–7 years as a CNC machinist with 2–3 years in a lead/supervisory role.
- Proficiency: set up, operate, and troubleshoot multi-axis CNC turning centers; read/edit G-code/M-code; work with stainless steel, aluminum, brass, and plastics.
- Familiarity with precision measuring tools: calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, optical comparators.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily CNC turning production to meet deadlines and quality standards.
- Lead, mentor, and train CNC machinists and supervise performance reviews.
- Support lean manufacturing and SOPs, drive continuous improvement.
- Perform preventive maintenance and tool management.
- Generate daily production reports and communicate status to management.
