Job summary

J.W. Speaker is seeking a skilled Tool and Die maker with 2–4 years of experience in a tool and die or mold shop to support mold changes and maintenance. The role requires programming and operating CNC mills, surface grinders, and manual lathes.

You will lead tool room activities, coordinate mold repairs via CMMS, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives including 5S and PDCA, in a state-of-the-art, air-conditioned facility with a casual environment.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Tool and Die maker or 7+ years experience in a tool and die or mold shop.
• Knowledge and use of CNC controls.
• 2-4 years experience in machining operations / building fixtures.

Responsibilities

• Set up and removal of molds in production equipment to perform maintenance and PM activities.
• Program and operate all tool room equipment.
• Make alterations to existing molds, fixtures, and tooling for design changes.
• Proficient in programming and operating CNC mills, surface grinders, and manual lathes.
• Maintain a safe tool room environment and lead group responsibilities as assigned.
• Mold repairs/maintenance: disassembly/reassembly, coordinate repairs through CMMS, RCFA participation.
• Continuous improvement: train/mentor, surface problems, apply PDCA, 5S.
