Job summary

J.W. Speaker Corporation in Wisconsin is seeking a Journeyman Tool and Die maker or experienced professional to support mold and die operations, build fixtures, and maintain tool room machinery.

The role includes mold setup, programming and operation of CNC mills, surface grinders and lathes, and coordinating mold changes and repairs via CMMS; a focus on continuous improvement with 5S and PDCA.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Tool and Die maker or 7+ years experience in a tool and die or mold shop.
• Knowledge and use of CNC controls.

Responsibilities

• Setup and removal of molds in production equipment for PM activities.
• Program and Operate all Tool Room Equipment.
• Make alterations to existing molds, fixtures, and tooling per design changes.
• Proficient in programming and operating CNC mills, surface grinders, and manual lathes.
• Maintain a safe working environment in the tool room.
• Group Leader responsibilities as assigned.
• Mold & Die disassembly & reassembly for changeovers or repairs.
• Coordinate and track Mold tool repairs through CMMS (eMaint).
• Participate in RCFA on damaged tools from production.
• Train and Mentor as part of Continuous Improvement (5S, PDCA).

1st OR 2nd Shift

1st shift Hours: 6:45am-2:45pm

2nd Shift Hours: 1:00pm-9:00pm or 3:00pm-11:00pm (some schedule flexibility allowed)

1st Priority – Daily Execution

(Key Tasks)

• Setup and removal of molds in production equipment in order to perform necessary maintenance and PM activities
• Program and Operate all Tool Room Equipment
• Make alterations to existing molds, fixtures, and tooling in support of design changes
• Proficient in programming and operating CNC mills, surface grinders, and manual lathes
• Maintain a safe working environment in the tool room for others conducting work in the tool room
• Group Leader responsibilities as assigned

2nd Priority – Mold Repairs/Maintenance

(Key Tasks)

• Mold & Die disassembly & reassembly to support changeovers or repairs.
• Coordinate and track Mold tool repairs through CMMS (eMaint)

Participate in RCFA on damaged tools from production

3rd Priority – Continuous Improvement – Reduce Cost

(Key Tasks)

• Train and Mentor
• Surface Problems
• Utilize PDCA to solve problems and drive improvements
• 5S

Education

• Journeyman Tool and Die maker, or 7 plus years experience in a tool and die or mold shop
• Knowledge and use of CNC controls

Experience

• 2-4 years experience in machining operations/Building fixtures
• Basic Computer Skills
• Experience/Exposure to Injection Molds is a plus
