Hitachi Energy in Alamo, TN is seeking a skilled Machinist Team Lead to guide setup, operation, and optimization of advanced CNC equipment in a high-mix, low-volume environment. You will support the production of highly engineered transformer components and help teammates work safely to meet schedules while driving continuous improvement.

The role leads Mazak/DMG Mori turn-mill centers, CNC lathes, and robot-integrated systems to boost productivity and ensure quality, safety, and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a CNC machine shop
• Experience with multi-axis turn-mill and horizontal machining centers
• Ability to read blueprints and apply GD&T
• Knowledge of G-code and machining fundamentals
• Safety, quality, and continuous improvement minded
• Internal candidates must meet Hitachi Energy tenure requirements

Responsibilities

• Lead setup and operation of Mazak and DMG Mori centers
• Support robot-integrated turn-mill systems to boost productivity
• Oversee machining centers with pallet pool systems for efficient flow
• Perform tooling setup, offsets, fixture alignment, and adjustments
• Monitor performance and optimize processes for quality and cycle time
• Set safety, 5S, and schedule-push expectations
• Coach team on standard work and problem solving
