Swiss Lathe Machinist – Setup, Program, and Operate

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

1. Setup, program, and operate a Swiss lathe, including full machine setups, tool selection, material loading, and initial programming adjustments.
2. Develop and document machining processes accurately.
3. Identify and order required tools and materials.
4. Program using DP Tech Esprit and manual programming.
5. Operate and troubleshoot a Nomura CNC Swiss lathe.
6. Conduct in-process inspections using micrometers and microscopes, and document results.
7. Ensure high-quality standards with precision and timely delivery.
8. Collaborate with the team to meet project deadlines safely and efficiently.
9. Maximize machine utilization, perform preventative maintenance, and suggest process improvements.
10. Assist in quoting work and maintain a clean work environment.

Qualifications

1. Extensive experience with CNC Swiss setup and operation.
2. Proven ability to set up and operate CNC Swiss lathes.
3. Preferred: CNC Programming experience (DP Technology ESPRIT preferred).
4. Preferred: Exposure to SolidWorks.
5. One-year machining trade certificate or five years of Swiss turning experience.
6. Two or more years of CNC Machining and Programming experience.
7. Experience working with tight tolerances and small precision parts.
8. Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and teamwork ability.
9. Basic computer skills.
