Job description

Summary / General Description:

The CNC Lathe / Chucker Setup Operator is responsible for operating and setting up CNC Lathes and Chucker machines, assisting in proving processes, and ensuring adherence to customer and company standards.

Reports to:

Operations Manager

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:
  1. Operates and maintains CNC turning centers.
  2. Reviews drawings, layouts, blueprints, or samples to ensure accurate production.
  3. Measures precisely to ensure product conforms to customer requirements.
  4. Reads and edits G&M code for CNC turning programs.
  5. Maintains accurate documentation throughout the shift.
  6. Reads blueprints accurately.
  7. Monitors production rates and notifies relevant personnel for adjustments.
  8. Maintains good line clearance throughout the day.
  9. Displays attention to detail.
  10. Performs tool alignments.
  11. Sets up unproven and more technical processes.
  12. Maintains a safe and clean workstation.
  13. Contributes to team efforts by completing related tasks as needed.
Educational Level:

High School Diploma or equivalent; college experience is a plus.

Previous Experience:
  • Excellent coordination and mechanical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in math.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Experience with CNC turning centers.
Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to stand for the entire shift.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. and perform repetitive tasks.
