Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced CNC Swiss Machinist in Agawam, MA to set up, program, operate, and troubleshoot Swiss-style CNC turning equipment for production runs. The ideal candidate has five or more years of CNC Swiss experience and a strong eye for precision.

You will work with engineering, production, and quality teams, mentor junior machinists, and contribute to process improvements while enjoying full benefits, a Monday–Friday schedule, and a company bonus plan.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of CNC Swiss setup and operating experience.
• Strong knowledge of Swiss-style CNC turning platforms.
• Proficiency with G-code and M-code programming.
• Experience with CAM software such as Esprit or PartMaker is preferred.
• Advanced understanding of machining processes, tooling, and tolerances.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience troubleshooting machining problems and optimizing CNC programs.
• Ability to mentor junior CNC operators.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Swiss machines for production runs.
• Select and install tooling, load materials, and secure workpieces.
• Interpret engineering drawings, models, specifications, and tolerances.
• Develop and modify CNC programs using G-code, M-code, CAM software, or manual programming.
• Perform test runs, trial cuts, and first-piece inspections.
• Use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensional accuracy.
• Monitor machining processes and make necessary offsets and adjustments.
• Troubleshoot complex setup, tooling, programming, and machining issues.
• Optimize programs, toolpaths, cycle times, and overall machine performance.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams on process improvements.
• Train and mentor junior CNC operators on Swiss machining practices.
• Perform routine machine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and replacement of worn components.
• Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.

The CNC Swiss Setup Operator III will produce complex, high-precision components while helping improve machining processes and supporting less-experienced operators.

• Two-year technical certification or equivalent hands-on experience preferred
