Job summary

Qualdoc is hiring a CNC Steel Fabrication Machine Operator in York, PA to set up and run fabrication machinery for structural steel components. You will review blueprints, load materials with overhead cranes, and monitor performance to ensure dimensional accuracy.

Starting pay is $23/hour with a $3.00/hour night shift differential. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of CNC experience in heavy manufacturing, with potential for contract-to-hire long-term employment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical or trade training preferred.
• 2+ years of CNC operation experience in structural steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret structural shop drawings and blueprints.
• Experience using precision measuring tools (calipers, tape, squares).
• Familiarity with overhead cranes, forklifts, and rigging equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC plasma cutters, beam drill lines, and angle lines.
• Review blueprints and work orders to confirm job requirements.
• Load and position steel beams and plates using overhead cranes and rigging equipment.
• Monitor machine performance and adjust settings for quality and dimensions.
• Measure finished parts to ensure accuracy; perform basic program edits.
