Job summary

Qualdoc is seeking a CNC Steel Fabrication Operator in Cocoa, FL for contract-to-hire. The role involves operating CNC cutting, sawing, or drilling equipment, reading measurements, and following production specs.

You will handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs and work with cranes in a safety-focused environment. Ideal candidates have experience with plasma tables or related machines and can read blueprints or symbols.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC plasma table or sawing/drilling operations.
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16 inch.
• Basic math for measurements and material calculations.
• Ability to safely operate overhead cranes and material handling systems.
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Work in environments with hot and cold temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Set and adjust machine controls and parameters to meet production needs.
• Measure raw materials and verify dimensions against specs.
• Select material type, stock size, and dimensions for each job.
• Transfer measurements and production information onto materials.
• Operate CNC plasma cutting, sawing, drilling equipment.
• Maintain records of production activities and material usage.
• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Safely operate overhead cranes and material transfer systems.
• Keep the work area clean and compliant with safety procedures.
