Job summary

Qualdoc in Cocoa Beach, FL is seeking a CNC Steel Processing Machine Operator for contract-to-hire. You will run automated equipment to cut, drill, and process structural steel, measure parts to spec, and work with overhead cranes for material handling.

Experience with CNC plasma tables or Peddinghaus and Ficep lines is required. You will set controls, read drawings, track production, and maintain a clean, safe shop. 1st and 2nd shifts available; pay up to $27/hour with $3 shift differential.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC plasma tables or steel sawing, drilling, or cutting equipment.
• Experience with Tekla PowerFab preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, fabrication symbols and shop notes.
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16 inch.
• Basic math skills for measurements and material calculations.

Responsibilities

• Set machine controls and select correct operating settings for production jobs.
• Identify steel type, stock size, and dimensions from job specs.
• Measure materials and confirm they meet production requirements.
• Apply or transfer part numbers and markings to steel components.
• Monitor CNC equipment and adjust settings as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance and assist with troubleshooting.
