Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking skilled trades for 2nd and 3rd shift. The team will operate CNC equipment for plasma, laser and oxy cutting, and perform burners to shape and bend steel plates at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent (or 2+ years related technical experience) and be able to read blueprints, perform basic measurements, and use essential hand tools. Forklift and crane certification are advantageous.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or 2 years related technical experience.
• Available to work all shifts.
• Ability to read basic blueprints and interpret layouts, forming and shipyard procedures.
• Ability to perform basic math and use measuring tools to verify dimensions.
• Individuals are required to possess their own basic hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines for plasma, laser and oxy cutting of plate and shapes.
• Burn plates with oxy propane and plasma torches to cut and bend steel.
• Form steel using rollers, press brakes (65 ton to 5K ton).
• Maneuver steel with forklift and 50 ton overhead cranes.
