Job summary

MOHR Talent is seeking an experienced manufacturing leader with a strong CNC machining background to oversee daily production, lead the shop floor team, and drive safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement in Grand Rapids, MI.

This role is ideal for hands‑on CNC machining professionals who have progressed into lead, supervisor, or management roles, with emphasis on Swiss‑style CNC machining and tight tolerances. Aerospace/medical manufacturing experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands‑on CNC machining experience.
• Experience with Swiss‑style CNC machines.
• 1–2+ years of manufacturing leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience in aerospace and/or medical manufacturing.
• Strong background in precision and tight‑tolerance machining.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong understanding of shop‑floor operations, quality, safety, and production flow.
• Proven ability to lead teams in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage CNC machinists, operators, and production employees.
• Set daily production priorities and keep work on schedule.
• Monitor productivity, quality, downtime, and on‑time delivery.
• Work closely with quality, maintenance, engineering, and management to resolve production issues.
• Drive 5S, safety, training, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Coach employees, address performance issues, and support team development.
• Help minimize scrap, rework, downtime, and production delays.
• Ensure equipment, tooling, materials, and manpower are aligned with production needs.
