Job summary

Express Employment Professionals in Bloomington, MN is seeking a CNC Setup Operator to load parts, set up lathe and multi-axis CNC equipment, and run production lots with minimal supervision.

You will read work instructions and SOPs, perform first-article and in-process inspections, document results, maintain accurate paperwork, and keep a clean, organized work area while coordinating with teammates and management about runs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Basic math including fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
• One year related experience, training or technical education.
• Proficiency with CNC controls.
• Working knowledge of setup of lathe and multi-axis machines.

Responsibilities

• Set up, load parts and cycle CNC equipment per daily schedule on a lathe.
• Inspect machined products and document results.
• Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to management.
• Read, understand, and interpret work instructions/setup documents and standard operating procedures.
• Complete and maintain paperwork for parts.
• Acquire additional certifications and credentials as required for work or career development.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area.

Express Employment Professionals is assisting a local leader in their search to fill a CNC Setup Operator in Bloomington, MN. As a CNC Setup Operator, you will operating a computer numerical controlled lathe or multi-axis with minimal supervision. The position runs production lots, keeps records, communicates with co-workers and managers regarding production runs, and maintaining standards.

What's an average day like as a CNC Setup Operator:

• Setup, load parts and cycle computer numerical control equipment per daily schedule on a lathe
• Perform inspection of machined products (including documentation of results)
• Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to management or designee.
• Read, understand, and interpret work instructions/setup documents and standard operating procedures
• Complete and maintain paperwork for parts.
• Acquire additional certifications and credentials as required for work or career development
• Maintain a clean, organized work area

What do we look for in a CNC Setup Operator:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Ability to perform basic mathematical computations including the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions
• Follow written and verbal instructions
• One year related experience, training and/or technical education
• Proficiency with CNC controls
• Working knowledge of setup of lathe and multi-axis machines

Schedule:

• 2nd shift 4:30 pm to 3:00 am Monday through Thursday
• Weekend 6:00 am to 6:00 pm rotating shift, work 3 days, paid for 40 hrs
