Job summary

Watts Water Technologies is seeking a CNC Setup Operator for our Franklin, NH facility. You will set up CNC lathes and mills, install tooling, verify offsets, and support production teams to ensure accurate part production.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience setting up CNC lathes and/or milling machines.
  • Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and company policies.
  • Lean/continuous improvement experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up CNC lathes, mills, and related equipment based on blueprints and setup sheets.
  • Install and adjust tooling, fixtures, collets, and work-holding devices.
  • Set and verify work offsets, tool offsets, and machine parameters.
  • Perform first-piece inspections in coordination with QA.
  • Troubleshoot tooling wear, fixtures, offsets, and machine operation.
  • Support CNC operators with machine adjustments and quality checks.
  • Document setup information, quality checks, and production notes.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

You will perform machine changeovers, install tooling and fixtures, verify offsets, and support operators to ensure consistent and accurate part production.This position is on site at our Franklin, NH facility, reports to the Production Supervisor and involves collaboration with fellow setup staff, operators, and the quality team.Primary Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesSet up CNC lathes, mills, and related equipment based on blueprints, job specifications, and setup sheets.Install and adjust tooling, fixtures, collets, and work-holding devices.Set and verify work offsets, tool offsets, and machine parameters.Perform first-piece inspections in coordination with Quality Assurance.Troubleshoot issues related to tooling wear, fixtures, offsets, and machine operation.Support CNC operators with machine adjustments and quality checks.Ensure machines run consistently following setup completion.Document setup information, quality checks, and production notes.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED.Experience setting up CNC lathes and / or CNC milling machinesProficiency with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges and other precision tools.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.Basic math skillsKnowledge of safety standards and company policies.Preferred Qualifications2+ years of CNC setup experience in a production environment.Experience diagnosing and replacing worn tooling.Knowledge of Lean/continuous improvement practices.Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.High attention to detail and commitment to quality.General Applicable Company CompetenciesCommitment to Watts’ values of integrity, accountability, continuous improvement and innovation, and transparency.Punctuality and dependability.Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing work priorities and stressful conditions.Adherence to all personnel policies, procedures, and standards of process as implemented by Watts.Maintain productive and collaborative relationships with other Watts employees.Adherence to Watts’ seven cultural beliefs: Growth Mindset, Customer-Focused Innovation, Constant Communication, Clear Goals, Collaborate Globally, Be Inclusive, and Take Action.Working ConditionsWhile performing the job duties, you will be working on-site in a manufacturing facility.
