Job summary

Leupold & Stevens, Inc. is seeking a CNC Setup Machinist in Beaverton, OR. The role involves setting up and operating CNC turning centers, reworking parts, and interpreting complex prints.

You will monitor tooling, adjust offsets, and ensure parts meet specifications while maintaining a clean and safe workspace. The position requires extensive experience with INDEX Turning Center models, strong GD&T skills, and the ability to train others.

Qualifications

• Seven years of Production Machinist, troubleshooting and operational experience.
• Minimum of five years of INDEX Turning Center experience preferred.
• Must be able to interpret and apply GDT.
• Must have ability to perform advanced shop math.
• Must have ability to effectively communicate written and verbal technical terms in English.
• Familiarity with Microsoft-based software systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates and sets-up established or rework parts on CNC turning centers and related machines.
• Reads and edits programs, assesses tool conditions, installs attachments, adjusts tools, performs offsets, loads bars, and monitors alarms.
• Performs SPC and maintains the process to target using applicable software/hardware.
• Performs 1st Article inspection with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area and notifies supervisor of unsafe conditions.
• Trains operators and oversees operator’s work product as assigned.
• Completes department paperwork and data entry as applicable.
