Aerotek is hiring a CNC Lathe Machinist in Zion, IL. The role involves interpreting blueprints, setting up CNC lathes, and ensuring parts meet specifications. You will perform QA tests and adjust paths for optimal production while maintaining quality.

This is a fully onsite position with a strong benefits package. We seek candidates with 5+ years of related experience and the ability to work from detailed drawings, GTD, and standard operating procedures.

Job Title: CNC Lathe Machinist Job Description

Responsibilities
  • Read technical drawings and set up machines according to blueprints.
  • Perform quality assurance tests to ensure products meet design specifications.
  • Adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality.
  • Determine necessary tools for cutting materials and program machines accordingly.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve machine-related issues as they arise.
  • Produce parts within specification and obtain first piece approval from the Quality Control Department.
  • Measure parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Maintain production by loading and unloading parts and raw materials, checking coolant levels, and replacing chip bins.
  • Report any discrepancies or issues with equipment, materials, tooling, or procedures to the Team Lead.
  • Debur, pack, and transport completed parts.
  • Use floor terminals to report work performed in real-time.
  • Train new employees on proper CNC machine operation and programming.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Essential Skills
  • 5 years of related experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with interpreting technical drawings and blueprints, including GD&T.
  • Ability to work independently and follow directions closely.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Capable of standing for extended periods.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine correspondence.
  • Skill in converting between metric and imperial units.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $38.00/hr.
