Job summary

Sandvik in Reynoldsville, PA is seeking a Walter CNC Set‑Up Operator to set up, prove out, operate and adjust Walter CNC tool & cutter grinders for precision round tools.

You will read blueprints and GD&T, load programs, manage offsets, perform first‑piece inspection and in‑process checks, and keep a clean 5S work area while coordinating with maintenance.

Qualifications

• Experience setting up and operating Walter CNC tool & cutter grinding machines.
• Strong understanding of round tool geometry (end mills, drills, step tools).
• Ability to read technical drawings and GD&T.
• Proficiency with precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators).
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Walter CNC tool & cutter grinders for round tool production.
• Read blueprints and tool drawings; load programs; manage offsets and minor edits.
• Perform first-piece inspection and in-process checks with precision instruments.
• Monitor machine performance and tool quality; adjust as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized 5S work area; follow safety and quality standards.
• Complete production paperwork and collaborate with maintenance/engineering.

We’re committed to quality, innovation, and providing a clean, well‑organized workplace where skilled machinists can thrive.We are currently seeking an experienced Walter CNC Set‑Up Operator to join our team.Position OverviewThe Walter CNC Set‑Up Operator is responsible for setting up, proving out, operating, and performing program adjustments on Walter CNC tool & cutter grinding machines to produce precision round cutting tools.
