Job summary

Cadrex Manufacturing Solutions is seeking a CNC Set Up I to set up and operate conventional, special purpose, and CNC Machining Centers to ready machines for fabricating metallic and nonmetallic parts. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and develop new skills.

The role involves assisting in setup, interpreting drawings, and operating CNC machines to achieve tight tolerances. Shift is Fri–Sun, 6:00 a.m.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in Aerospace & Defense manufacturing or equivalent.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
• Ability to learn and follow procedures and safety guidelines.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills in CNC machining and programming.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the setup of CNC machines for production runs, including loading materials, securing workpieces, and installing tooling.
• Learn to interpret engineering drawings, models, and specifications to understand machining requirements.
• Assist in the operation of CNC machines to produce parts with tight tolerances and complex geometries.
• Perform basic CNC programming tasks, such as inputting tool offsets and adjusting machine settings.
• Conduct routine maintenance tasks on CNC machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged components.
• Monitor machining processes and make adjustments as directed by senior operators or supervisors to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Inspect machined parts using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications.
• Assist in troubleshooting machining issues and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
• Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times, including proper handling and operation of CNC machines and equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
