Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Field Service Engineer in Detroit, MI to install, commission, and service advanced CNC machining equipment. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain complex CNC systems, train customers, and ensure OEM standards are met.

This role requires extensive travel, including international assignments. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, the ability to read schematics, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills related to CNC equipment.
• Ability to read schematics, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Self directed, customer focused, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Solid communication and basic computer skills.
• Extensive hands on experience servicing complex CNC machining systems (5 axis preferred).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain complex CNC machining systems, including multi axis platforms
• Install new machines, upgrades, and retrofits, and bring equipment online to specification
• Train customers on proper operation and maintenance
• Verify equipment performance meets OEM standards
• Document service activities and communicate effectively with internal service teams
• Support customers across multiple locations through extensive travel, including international travel as needed

The Field Service Engineer is responsible for installing, commissioning, and servicing advanced CNC machining equipment, ensuring optimal performance and high customer satisfaction. This role serves as a technical expert and trusted advisor, supporting end users through troubleshooting, training, and ongoing technical guidance.
