Job summary

Jobot Consulting in Hampton, VA is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for 1st or 2nd shifts. You will set up and operate CNC mills and lathes to produce precision components per blueprints, ensuring tight tolerances and quality standards.

Read engineering drawings, interpret specifications, and perform in-process inspection with micrometers and calipers. Collaborate with programmers and engineers to meet production goals while adhering to safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years with CNC mills or lathes.
• Ability to read blueprints and engineering specs.
• Experience with G-code and precision measuring tools.
• Strong attention to quality and safety.

Job Details

• Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and other machining equipment to produce precision components to spec


• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications to ensure accurate part production


• Monitor machining processes and make adjustments to maintain tight tolerances and quality standards


• Perform in-process inspection using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges


• Identify and troubleshoot issues with tooling, fixturing, and machining processes to minimize downtime


• Follow all quality and safety standards and maintain a clean, organized work area


• Collaborate with programmers, engineers, and other machinists to meet production goals and deadlines

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience operating CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis machining equipment


• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering specifications


• Working knowledge of G-code and basic machine offsets


• Experience using precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, and gauges


• Strong attention to detail with the ability to hold tight tolerances consistently


• Familiarity with quality and safety standards in a manufacturing environment


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production setting
