Job summary

SAFE Boats International in Bremerton, WA is seeking a Machine Operator 1 (Router Operator) for a full-time day shift. Set up and run a CNC gantry router to produce precision metal and plastic parts, with supervision and safety protocols.

The role requires strong manual dexterity and attention to measurement tolerances. The position pays $22.00–$27.00 per hour, DOE, with benefits including Medical/Dental/Vision, PTO, and 401K.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
• Over 3 years of related experience preferred
• Ability to Pass Internal Forklift Certification training

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and operate all the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools to perform precision machining operations.
• Stop machines to remove finished work pieces, or to change tooling, setup, or work piece placement, according to required machining sequences.
• Confer with supervisors or programmers to resolve machine malfunctions and production errors, and to obtain approval to continue production.
• Listen to machines during operation to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration and adjust machines to compensate for problems.
• Lift work pieces to machines manually, or with hoists or cranes.
• Check to ensure that work pieces are properly lubricated and cooled during machine operation.
• Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.
• Transport via fork or other type of lifts the raw and finished materials.
