Job summary

Fusion Sign and Design is seeking a Multicam CNC Router Operator to set up, operate, and maintain Multicam CNC routing equipment for sign fabrication. The operator collaborates with production staff to meet quality, schedules, and safety goals.

Responsibilities include loading and securing materials such as aluminum, acrylic, PVC, wood, ACM; reading drawings and CAD/CAM data; making tool changes; performing maintenance; and reporting progress.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years CNC router operating experience preferred.
  • Experience operating Multicam CNC routers preferred.
  • Knowledge of CNC programming software and CAD/CAM systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate Multicam CNC routers to produce components per drawings and schedules.
  • Load, position, and secure materials such as aluminum, acrylic, PVC, wood, ACM.
  • Read shop drawings, CAD/CAM data, and production specs.
  • Verify dimensions and inspect finished parts for quality and accuracy.
  • Make machine adjustments and tool changes to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC equipment and work areas.
  • Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot basic issues.
  • Collaborate with design and production teams to optimize processes.
  • Maintain accurate production records and report completed work orders.
  • Follow safety policies and use PPE; assist with other fabrication tasks as needed.

Job description

Position Summary:

The Multicam CNC Router Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining Multicam CNC routing equipment to accurately cut, shape, and fabricate a variety of materials used in sign manufacturing and Sign products. The operator works closely with production manager, designers, and production personnel to ensure quality standards, production schedules, and safety requirements are consistently met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate Multicam CNC routers to produce components according to engineering drawings, work orders, and production schedules.
  • Load, position, and secure materials including aluminum, acrylic, PVC, wood, ACM, and other sign fabrication materials.
  • Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, CAD files, and production specifications.
  • Verify material dimensions and inspect finished parts for quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications.
  • Make machine adjustments and tool changes as required to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC equipment and work areas.
  • Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot basic operational issues.
  • Collaborate with design and production teams to optimize machining processes and improve efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate production records and report completed work orders.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Assist with other fabrication and production activities as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of CNC router operating experience preferred.
  • Experience operating Multicam CNC routers strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of CNC programming software and CAD/CAM systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in the sign manufacturing industry.
  • Familiarity with EnRoute, or similar CNC programming software.
Work Environment:

This position operates in a manufacturing facility and may be exposed to machinery noise, dust, and varying temperatures. The employee must adhere to all safety standards and maintain a clean and organized work area.
