Dormont Manufacturing Co. seeks an experienced Walter CNC Set-Up Operator to join our precision tool manufacturing team in Reynoldsville, PA. This role focuses on setting up, proving out, operating, and adjusting Walter CNC grinders to produce high‑quality round cutting tools.

You will read blueprints, verify geometry, and ensure tool accuracy with in‑process checks. The position requires strong hands‑on grinding experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work on 2nd shift with a

Qualifications

• Experience setting up and operating Walter CNC tool & cutter grinders.
• Ability to read technical drawings and GD&T.
• Proficiency with precision measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Walter CNC tool & cutter grinders for round tool production.
• Read and interpret blueprints, tool drawings, and engineering specs.
• Load programs, make offsets, and perform minor edits for tool geometry accuracy.
• Perform first-piece inspection and in-process checks with measurement equipment.
• Monitor machine performance and tool quality, making necessary adjustments.
• Maintain clean and organized work area following 5S principles.
• Troubleshoot machine issues and collaborate with maintenance/engineering.
• Complete production paperwork and maintain accurate records.
• Follow safety procedures and company quality standards.
