Job description

Your Day, Engineered for ImpactAt 6:00 a.m., you’re on the floor reviewing the CMMS for planned work and overnight alerts. You lock out a Mazak machining center, change out a worn spindle bearing, and verify alignment to restore accuracy. A conveyor stalls—your root-cause instincts kick in, tracing the fault from a sensor to a failed drive. By mid-morning, you’re calibrating an Okuma axis, checking ball screws and linear guides, then collaborating with a Controls Technician on a PLC input anomaly. After lunch, you fine-tune a hydraulic circuit, replace a pneumatic valve on an automated cell, and bring a robot-peripheral back online. You wrap up by documenting everything and prepping parts inventory for the next preventive cycle. That’s a typical day safeguarding uptime in our fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.ScheduleDay shift, Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (50-hour workweeks). What You’ll TacklePreventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on CNC machining centers and supporting manufacturing systems.Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues to minimize downtime.Diagnose failures, identify root causes, and implement lasting fixes.Rebuild/replace components: spindles, ball screws, linear guides, bearings, pumps, motors, valves, sensors, and tooling systems.Align, calibrate, and verify machine accuracy for repeatable precision.Interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, hydraulic diagrams, and OEM manuals.Maintain and troubleshoot automation, conveyors, robotics, and machine peripherals.Install, modify, and improve equipment to boost reliability and throughput.Support PLC troubleshooting (work alongside Controls Technicians for advanced programming changes).Apply lockout/tagout and uphold all safety regulations.Record work and equipment history in the CMMS; contribute to TPM and continuous improvement.Assist with equipment startups/shutdowns and production support.Manage spare parts and flag critical components.Respond to breakdowns and urgent repairs as needed. What You BringHigh school diploma or GED.At least 3 years of industrial maintenance experience, ideally in automotive manufacturing.Hands-on experience with CNC centers such as Mazak, Okuma, Haas, Makino, Fanuc, or Mori Seiki.Deep understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings/power transmission, electrical controls, and motors/drives.Skill reading technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.Basic PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Fanuc, or similar).Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and diagnostic tools.Familiarity with CMMS platforms and structured preventive maintenance programs.Safety & ComplianceFor positions requiring access to technical data, NN, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. As such, applicants for this position – except U.S. Citizens, U.S. Permanent Residents, and protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) – may have to go through an export licensing review process.
