Job summary

SPX Technologies in Madison, AL is seeking a Programmer to program CNC equipment used in sheet metal fabrication. You will create instructions, develop CNC programs, and interpret CAD models to drive efficient production.

Ideal candidates have at least three years in a production programming role, strong G & M code knowledge, and the ability to read GD&T. Responsibilities include quality checks, safety compliance, and cross‑functional collaboration on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years Production Programmer (Machine Shop) experience.
• Basic math, reading and writing skills.
• Ability to create programs in G and M codes.
• Ability to read and interpret GD&T.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Create instructions and setup sheets for operators.
• Write and modify CNC programs using CAD/CAM software.
• Review 3D CAD models and blueprints to determine machining processes.
• Make calculations for tooling and material requirements.
• Analyze job orders and determine appropriate feeds and speeds.
• Improve complex setups and optimize program efficiency.
• Select tooling and simplify operations to increase productivity.
• Determine operation sequences within programs.
• Perform quality checks to ensure machining precision.
• Collaborate with engineers and machinists to resolve issues.
• Document actions and communicate across shifts.
• Follow safety rules and maintain compliance.
