Job summary

Wieland in Lake Zurich, IL is hiring a Manufacturing Engineering Technician II to develop, validate, and optimize CNC programs for lathes, mills, and multitasking machines on-site. This role focuses on improving cycle times, product quality, and tooling efficiency.

Starting pay is $32-$48 per hour with a Monday–Friday schedule and weekly pay. Candidates should bring 7+ years of CNC programming experience or 10 years in lieu, and be proficient in MasterCAM and SolidWorks, with strong blueprint

Qualifications

• 7 years of CNC programming and setup experience.
• Experience with CNC validation and optimization.
• Proficiency in interpreting blueprints with GD&T.
• Familiar with tooling optimization and cycle time reduction.
• Strong attention to detail and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Create CNC programs for lathes, mills, and multitasking machines in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Set up and validation of new programs for new parts and revisions to existing parts.
• Optimize existing CNC programs to enhance plant performance, focusing on product quality, cycle time, and tooling efficiency.
• Provide support to production staff by troubleshooting CNC programs and setups.
• Lead or participate in Root Cause Analysis as needed to identify and address process or equipment issues.
• Prepare tooling requests for new or modified products to ensure proper implementation.
• Update Bills of Material (BOMs) and Bills of Operations (BOOs) as necessary to reflect accurate information.
• Stay current with advancements in manufacturing and machining technologies and processes.
• Uphold and exemplify Wieland's values, setting a positive example for the production team.
