Job summary

Wieland in Lake Zurich, IL is hiring a Manufacturing Engineering Technician II to develop, validate, and optimize CNC programs for lathes, mills, and multitasking machines on-site. You will improve cycle times, product quality, and tooling efficiency while supporting production staff and participating in root cause analysis.

The role requires an Associate's degree in manufacturing engineering technology (or 7–10 years CNC experience), MasterCAM, Mill Turning, and SolidWorks proficiency, with

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in manufacturing engineering technology or a related field, with seven years of CNC programming and setup experience, or ten years total CNC programming and setup experience.
• MasterCAM software proficiency or equivalent.
• Mill Turning programming proficiency and SolidWorks familiarity.
• Ability to read blueprints with GD&T.
• Experience using precision measurement tools to ensure specs.
• Strong attention to detail and clear written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Create CNC programs for lathes, mills, and multitasking machines.
• Set up and validate new programs for new parts and revisions.
• Optimize CNC programs to improve quality and cycle time.
• Troubleshoot CNC programs and setups for production support.
• Lead or participate in root cause analysis for issues.
• Prepare tooling requests and update BOMs/BOOs as needed.
• Stay current with machining technologies and best practices.
• Uphold Wieland values and promote teamwork.
