Job summary

Gibson Inc. in Nashville seeks a skilled CNC Programmer to support manufacturing of musical instrument components. You will develop CNC code, fixtures, and new technology for efficient production.

Work with engineering, production, and maintenance to implement processes, diagnose issues, and create set-up and quality instructions. Strong CAD/CAM, Mastercam, and precision measurement skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in a CAD/Drafting capacity preferred
• AA/BS degree (or equivalent) or College/Technical Certificate
• Machining and Tooling Experience: 5 years minimum (Required)
• Mastercam Knowledge: 3+ years (Preferred)
• Ability to read and write G-Code (Required)
• CAD/CAM Knowledge: 3 years (Required)
• Vocational or Bachelor's (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Design, fabricate, and implement tool fixturing for Guitar Manufacturing Process.
• Implement best practices for CNC processing of wood products.
• Implement a training programs for new and current CNC operators.
• Understand, track, and communicate facility CNC capacities and optimization.
• Create and implement CNC change over, set-up, and quality checking instructions.
• Create and manage a cutting tool replacement system and PM schedule
• Produce parts using CNC & Manual Lathes, Vertical and Horizontal Boring Machines
• Interpret engineering drawings & specifications
• Study drawings, manuals, specifications and instructions to determine dimensions and tolerances
• Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers
• Proofread all supplied documents for pertinent data
• Design plans using CAD software
• Assist and perform preventative maintenance on CNC machines
• Order tooling for production and manage changes
• Know capabilities of machine tools in facility
• Follow Gibson Cardinal Safety Rules and safety observations
• Support Safety Management System (SMS) for safe work environment
• Other duties as assigned.
