Cimolai-HY LLC in Chicago seeks a Programmer to translate design specs into precise CNC instructions for steel fabrication. You will set up and operate CNC machines, adjust settings, and document changes with a focus on safety and quality.

The role requires strong programming skills in C and CAD/CAM software, ability to read engineering drawings, and proactive collaboration with design engineers and shop staff to optimize fabrication processes.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or CNC certification preferred.
• Proficiency in C programming and CAD/CAM software.
• Knowledge of steel fabrication processes: cutting, bending, welding, drilling.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Strong troubleshooting to identify and resolve machine or programming issues.
• Experience in CNC programming or steel fabrication is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Process CNC using SMART ERP software to translate drawings into machine instructions.
• Adjust machine settings to maintain quality and adherence to specs.
• Identify and troubleshoot programming or machinery issues during production.
• Make adjustments to machine settings or programming to fix quality problems.
• Maintain detailed records of programming changes and production logs.
• Generate reports on production output, efficiency, and deviations.
