About Universal Plastics: Universal Plastics specializes in plastic injection molding, including gas assist and structural foam, for customers mainly in the medical, laboratory, and diagnostic markets. We supply high-quality, large plastic parts with complex designs and high cosmetic requirements. Our presses range from 85T to 1,500T. This position is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating the CNC Machine for the production of injection-molded plastic parts.

Job Description

This position reports to the Molding Manager and is a full-time role primarily on day shift, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities of a CNC Programmer/Operator:

1. Setup, program, and operate a Thermwood CNC Router for producing injection-molded plastic parts.
2. Write programs for the CNC machine to optimize production.
3. Utilize milling machines, sonic welders, and CNC machines to build fixtures, assemble parts, and repair structures.
4. Set up and machine parts as per customer specifications.
5. Repair defective parts from the Molding Department to meet quality standards.
6. Order necessary components for equipment maintenance.
7. Perform carpentry and woodworking tasks for facility repairs.
8. Assist departments with machine setups and other tasks as needed.
9. Maintain a clean and safe workstation.
10. Follow all safety regulations and practices.
11. Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
12. Stand, walk, and use hands for 8-10 hours daily.

Candidate Requirements:

1. 2-5 years of plastics manufacturing experience preferred.
2. Knowledge of injection molding principles is a plus.
3. Ability to work independently with strong self-motivation.
4. Good decision-making skills to meet production demands.
5. Efficiency and effectiveness in task execution.
6. Flexible mindset to adapt to changing tasks.

8. High School Diploma with good communication and arithmetic skills.
9. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
